Farmhouse "La Rugea"

The farm guesthouse complex “La Rugea” is situated in the magical Tuscan countryside, just 15km from Florence and 7km from Prato. The complex is made up of a villa with 16th century origins with an attached chapel, and a 18th century farmhouse. A picturesque avenue of pines and century old live oaks, flanked by cypresses, leads to this old noble residence, typically Tuscan in its simplicity of taste while its proportions are typical of the renaissance. The swimming pools are nestled in the 4 hectare park which surrounds and embellishes the villa with olive trees and ancient trees, creating the perfect environment to relax both mind and spirit. A small but delightful Italian garden flanks the villa on the side behind the chapel, bestowing an even more gentle measured tone on the atmosphere, quite apart from offering picturesque nooks perfect for photographs. The building, with its beautiful architectural style, is open all year round and is furnished and decorated according to its historic nature. In the consecrated chapel, dated 1725 (as stated by an epigraph under the altar), religious functions are celebrated at least 3 times a year on the occasions of the feast days of the Virgin Mary and Easter.
